Hello, thank you for taking the time to visit my Website! My name is Jon Heskes, I am currently pursuing my MFA in Editing for Film and Television at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. I am a Bay Area native, born and raised in the East Bay. My Grandfather grew up in the Fillmore district of SF in the 1920’s so I have deep roots in The City. I received my Bachelors Degree in Sociology with a Minor in Digital Video/Film Production from UC San Diego. After graduating I worked as a Video Editor, in a fast paced client driven corporate environment with little emphasis on creative projects. Having a strong desire to express my creativity and passion for Filmmaking, I decided to enroll in my MFA program. I find editing to be incredibly rewarding because it’s where the story comes together. Every project is different and has the ability to become something even greater than the original intention. Finding what makes each story special and significant is what I love about the art of Editing. I am currently working on a number of different projects which I hope to add to my Portfolio.
